Diary Room: Week 1 - First Impressions

Okay. I've only talked to a couple people because I really don't want to talk to any of them. If I can get them all to self evict the first week. Can I sit in silence by myself for the rest of the summer? Alright here we go.

Libra messaged me. Said hi. Then said bye because I didn't respond because I was at work. It seemed snotty. I don't like her right now.

Cassandra messaged me next. We talked about being awkward and Disney movies. The only time I've made an alliance before the first HOH I got screwed, so I'm holding back. I like her though, but I feel everyone probably likes her.

Becky followed. I'm getting a Brian/Mike sort of vibe from them, which is a good thing tbh. We didn't talk much, but it's also 11:43pm here and I'm not about to go around and ask them their favorite life memory

Liz is cool. I'm unsure about her. She falls on a neutral side for me right now. I like her and I think we got a good vibe, but it's more of a "we'll see where it goes and if it progresses past basic friendship"

James. Eh. He messaged me first, and I feel that I'm the one kinda driving the conversation, so we'll see. We both have worked as cashiers, so that's an angle I might go for later on.

Shelli is the last person I talked to today. And.... I don't like her? It may just be because it's the first conversation but she's coming across as fake. I told her I'd tell her a story every day, which I'll keep to. Partially because it'll develop a connection with her without me having to do much, and also because if I ever have to put her up or vote her out, I'm gonna make a story about me doing just that and despite how mean it'd be, I'd find it funny.

I'll talk to everyone else tomorrow, and see who talked to me today wants to continue the conversation.

Yeah. It's like, chilled out, not too worried on the game. We basically only chatted about the game, and she didn't force any game talk. Totally a good thing. And thank you!

Update:

I talked to Kathy and I'm already kinda whatever on her. Either she's trying to actually be Kathy, or she really does work as a sheriff. Either way, meh. I'm not holding any judgement yet, but I don't wanna work with someone who's pretending to be someone else. I need substance. (Which granted, that's a weird thing to say in an alias game, but still. I stand by it).

Okay. Actual first impressions on the cast + whatever the hell else I feel like talking about.

So Arlie: I talked for him for like two minutes? Seems nice enough, but I can't say too much on him. The thing I WILL say on him, is that I can never get over how creepy Arlie's BB photo is. Every time it shows up on the memory wall, I get goosebumps and want to cover it up. 

Becky: I like her. Definitely want to work with her. She likes Liz a lot, and seems to like Howard a little bit. I think I can work with that. She keeps sending me videos of BB17 Steve and Becky, and I'm pretending to watchYou see, especially in these early stages, I'm only focusing on how I feel when just chatting with them. Because there's no damn way i'm gonna want to partner up with some 2x4 piece of wood who has absolutely no personality whatsoever. What would we talk about?

James: He's that 2x4 piece of wood that I was talking about. Not an attack on him, but i've talked to him twice. I kind of had to force the conversation the first time, and I caught him right before he went to sleep the second time. Until we have a decent conversation though. I'm calling him Plank



Okay okay. Who's next? Cassandra. I like her, and we've already established a good connection. I haven't heard her name be brought up by anyone, so I don't know how well she's talking to other people. I think I'll try to find out tomorrow. Not in a "tell me ur game" kind of way. more like, "Hey, I like you. Just making sure you're not sucking at this."

Howard is cool, but cool in a Zach way. Where you can clearly tell he's cool with most of the other people he's talked to, which is a great thing if you're him. I think me and Howard could work together, but that'd be more on his end, and if he saw that he would be able to use me to get him further to the end. I think he can be trusted, I'm just wary of him.

Joshuah Uhh. Hold on. Let me check my aim messages to figure out who Joshuah is. Oh ok. He works in a factory... That's about all I got.

Okay. Then there's Kathy. And when/if she reads this, I hope she knows that this is just going off first impressions. But after the people who haven't talked to me go, I want her to go next. I'm not gonna sit around and pretend she's a cop. Asking her where her taser is at. I'm a (barely) adult, I have taxes to pay and insurance to get. Her favorite foods are steak and ziti.

Kelsey. A name I was debating on whether or not to bold. Is she still here? She complimented my glasses (or well, Steve's glasses) and I got awkwarded out and told her nice pose. We talked the next day about days off of work. Looking back on how i responded to her nice glasses comment. I don't blame her.

Libra She cool. I don't know shit about her, but we talked for a bit. She seems like the person who'd put someone up and make it seem like it was their fault. Does that make sense? Does ANY of this make sense? Probably not. Let's move on though.

Liz Liz is cool and I think we get along really well. I checked AIM and the last message i sent was "So how's laying in bed" Which made me freeze and go WHAT. Then I checked the conversation and it was totally in context (i said what's up, she said laying in bed. we talked for a bit. then i asked that). But still, that's weird af. I gotta watch myself with phrasing comments like that. "So how's laying in bed". That's literally one of the worst questions to ask someone. Haha.

Naeha: We had such a brief conversation, she's one of the ones I hope doesn't win HOH, because i highly doubt I'd be safe.

[/b]Nicholas[/b] WHO THE HELL IS THIS GU- Oh. We talked for a bit. (in case you can't tell, i'm typing while refreshing my mind on our conversations.) Dude works at Jimmy Johns, so he's A-OK in my book.

Ramsay I have no fucking clue who this is. There's a dude on aim who accidentally messaged me when trying to message someone else. Maybe that's him? Even then, the dude didn't answer me back. Maybe he will tomorrow -shrugs- who knows. Either way, the kid needs to go.

Sam is alright. We had a brief convo, but I think it's enough to get me through this week if he won. I couldn't tell you past that.

Then there's Shelli. Who's kind of let go of the Shelli stick a bit, and I'm enjoying talking her a little bit more now. We just had a 30 minute conversation on food (because food is amazing). If her, Howard, Cassandra, Liz, Becky or me could win HOH, that would be great. Make it happen, RnF gods.

Finally there's Steve. Probably the funniest and nicest guy here. Definitely the front runner to win this thing, and most assured the most humble man I have ever had the pleasure to get to know.




Even the mobile board to this site hates my picture. I'm legitimately waiting for me to log in one day and the site just going "Nah son. You don't have an account. We got rid of it."

BRIEF UPDATES VOL. 2


He started the most interesting conversation in the entire world. He say hey, I said hey what's up, and he said Nm HBU. I'm not sure if he's like this to everyone or if he's just being short with me. Either way. I asked him if he watched Ed Edd and Eddy, and what was his opinion on plank. He said that Plank was an icon, an underrated player and the best. So i'm now 102% convinced he's basing his gameplay off of a 2x4 piece of wood.

I asked him if I could call him plank, he said I should call him Crazy James, and that he called himself Crazimari to someone. Well, i'm not calling another human Crazimari so i'm sticking with plank. And I decided that I'm referring to him as that for the remainder of the season. I'll come up with nicknames for the others later probably. Mostly because I get bored with people's names pretty quickly, and I go off to find better ones.

LIZZIE MCGUIRE
So me and Liz just established that we would work together. i think we get along really well, and I kind of wanted to beat other people to the punch (if they haven't talked to her yet already). We had a 20 minute back and forth on putting Ramsey's name into horror films, pretty much solidified our friendship.

THINGS HAVE HAPPENED FOR MY GAME. I'm still trying to process it all, so I'm trying to decide if I should just type it out or make a quick video.

DRUNKEN RANT AHEAD!

Okay. So. First of all. Naeha. Nigha. Naya Rivera. However you say her name. She messages me. Asking about my thoughts on BOTB. I answered her (honestly) and said that it was the bane to my existence. She replies with that it could be fun. FUN. Battle of the Block. Now granted, I'm at an advantage because I've played a BOTB before and I know just how much I hated it. And for her to insinuate that it could be fun, for that reason and that reason alone. I want her gone first.

Also, so earlier I talked to Liz. Was like "Hey we should work together". and she went "Omg that's fantastic that's great". Then shelli messages me and goes "We should work together!" and I'm like "yeah. i'll talk to you more about it after work". So I get home, see i'm safe, do my safety dance. And I message Becky, saying that I wouldn't put her up and I'd use the veto on her if she needed me to, and she said she'd do the same (Little does she know I have a 0% win rate on anything but a BOTB heuheuheuheu). So everything's going well. Then Shelli messages me, asking to talk again. We talk. She says she wants to work together. I say sure. She says she wants to do four people, and that I could invite someone.

Now, me still being hesitant over her, I tell her that I trust her and if she thinks she could trust someone enough to be in the group, then I'd be okay with that. She says what about Liz and Becky? I'm sitting there staring at my computer like:



So moral of the story is. Shelli came through in a way where i get to work with the two people i wanted to work with together (along with Shelli, who I'm starting to trust more now), and it was all Shelli's idea, meaning when this group blows up in our face (A group full of BB17 castmates? C'mon. Do you REALLY think this will be a secret for long?) I won't be the one taking the blunt of the issues.

Shelli seems really unconfident about leading the group. She keeps coming to me and making sure I'm okay and seeing if it was too soon to do this. I don't know if this is a game plan sort of move, or if she's really unsure on what she's doing, but I'm fine with it. We still have to talk to Liz, but I think in a group with Shelli and Becky (Liz mentioned she really likes Becky, and also likes Shelli), along with Steve: The Great and Powerful. I'm pretty sure she'll be in.

Watch out Naeha, we're coming for you and your optimistic ass. (Lol jk. But seriously.)

Okay. So I've figured out a good portion of their nicknames for now. (i'll probably change them all throughout the season.

So welcome, welcome one and all to the RnF 14 fashion show! First of all, let's give a round of applause for our lovely host, Steve. So kind, so gentle. Here we go.


Sam is now known in my book as Crampon. Out of everyone here. I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this. So therefore, I won't.


Cassandra will now live a new life as Darla. Simply because she pointed out how awkward she was with first meetings, and she has a love for disney movies. The first awkward disney person that came to mind was Darla. Henceforth, please welcome Darla. 


Plank is still Plank. No reason needed, but here's one anyway. He really likes saying hi to someone, then responding with Nm HBU. This is the second time this has happened. Somebody get the boy a thesaurus.


Joshuah is Coal Miner in my book. I know that he works in a factory, but being a coal miner would be so much more interesting. It opens the book for more conversation topics, like, "Do you have black lung" and "has there been a folk song made about you".


When it comes to Kathy. I keep imagining Kramer. Seinfeld Kramer, not in a comedy club yelling racist things Kramer (Although granted I don't know her personal life that well, she may very well do that on weekends). She's just sort of always there. Always trying to talk, always exclamation marks. 


The only nickname i can think of for Libra is The Other Person. Because it never fails that I keep forgetting that she's a part of this game. When making this list, I had 14 (not including me), so I was like "who am i missing? who is this other person?" The Other Person was Libra. 'Nuff said.


Nigahiga is just going to be called Naya Rivera. I'll call her Nile River for short, because her conversations are long and only seem to go in one direction. Naya Rivera just told me it's actually pronounced Nay-Ha, but I'm not emotionally invested enough to change her name 4 seconds after I made it. 


Nick is just gonna be Hawkeye. Because he hasn't really given me any reason to believe he's not an expendable member of this house who doesn't do anything except chat. (Of course, I say this while I also haven't done anything except chat. That, my friends, is called being a hypocrite).


Ramsey is Jar-Jar, fuck anyone that says otherwise. He's the big troll that people in the house just go "Eh- he's kind of funny. Not useful though". And by people in the house, I mean me.


For Arlie, Howard and Kelsey. I genuinely can't think of a nickname for these people. Arlie's cool but just kind of there, Kelsey, we had a long conversation about Mean Girls, so i'll probably give her a mean girls style nickname (Glen Coco, eh? eh?), but for now she's in the group. And for Howard, I really don't hav- ......Wait. Wait wait wait wait. Wait.


Howard is motherfucking Howard the Duck. Boom. Done. Moving on.


I told Liz, Becky and Shelli that I would name them after Destiny's Child, but I lied. The name on our group chat is Steve's Angels (because it rolls off the tongue easier than Steve and the Gals. So They're Steve's Angels. Forever and ever. I could go this week, and i will refer to them as Steve's Angels for the duration of the season.


That's currently how I view myself. Is it unwarranted? Absolutely. But do I still see myself as this? Absolutely.

Quick note:

I wanted to do a lot better in comps this season, because I've theatrically done horrible in nearly everything. So I practice, and practice. Getting ready, training like I'm rocky. Then I realized that my internet was horrible and most likely made by Satan.
