Diary Room - Week Four: Mistakes?

I'll keep this short because I'm about to go into work. I'm heavily considering when I get off work to tell Howard about the alliances in the house. Not my alliance because I feel that'd lose trust with him. But Becky's alliance. I trust him a tad more than I do Becky. So I'm tempted. At the same time. I don't wanna do what Jozea and Victor did on the last episode of Bb18, where they just laid out their game plan and screw themselves over.

Luckily, I have a day at work to think this over first.

Okay. I'm in a weird position. I'm in an alliance with James, who wants to put up Liz. I'm also in an alliance with Liz, who I don't want to go. So I literally have to go from one chat where I'm like "oh great who'll be up with her" to another one where I'm like "oh James what an asshole I'll do what I can."

Naeha's noms are a mystery. The best guess right now is Arlie and we're gonna try to push for Libra. So basically, regardless of who wins BOTB I'm still gonna have to bust my ass for veto. I don't want Arlie to go up, but I know I'm not too far down the list from him and in the end, better him than me.

So basically. My alliance wants out my alliance, while mutual members of each alliance are just trying to play it cool. If I win veto and Liz is up, I'm absolutely gonna use it on her. I talked briefly about nomming myself to go up on James side, but that's only if he can convince Nick to throw it. If he can, kudos to James for getting someone to do that this early in the game. I don't think he will though, so I'm holding off.

Gah. Literally the last two people I wanted to win HOH won HOH

EDIT: James is now saying he'd bet money that Shelli and Liz are working together.

Now he's saying he can trust Nick and he can bring him in if he noms Nick, because Nick clearly has no one. When I know Nick has that alliance. Was I James during Rnf8 and AS2? Just sort of oblivious to everything? I feel bad for him but I know I can't let him in on anything.

Alright. I'm gonna take a little bit of time from acting like a complete and total jackass to just sort of talk to you all as a human. Explain my thoughts and game plan right now without trying to turn it into a joke. Also this might be really fucking long. So I'm sorry about that, and also sorry for the cursing. It's a habit lol.

I know I keep bringing up the other seasons of this that I was on, but that's because this is my third game ever. So literally, all I have to look back on is those two instances. Both times, my competition skills and me being hesitant towards every single decision made me the most expendable person in literally any alliance i would get into. So one of the things I wanted to bring to this season was to put myself out there more, spend a lot more time trying to do better at competitions and show almost an unbearable amount of certainty with everything that I do. So far I think it's worked out pretty well. Granted, I don't know where I stand where my alliances and i could just as easily still be the first one to go from there, but not only have my comp skills improved drastically (still haven't gotten the W yet though, assholes ), but I think I have stronger relations in this season than I have in any others. 

My core alliance is still with Becky, Liz and Shelli. I really like all of them and I want to keep them safe as long as it doesn't outright ruin my game. Howard is probably the person I vibe with best in the house though, and somebody who I could see myself going to the final two with, and if I could get a couple comp wins under my belt, I think I'd have a relatively good chance at beating him too. 

I like James. I give him tons of shit in this DR but he's not too bad. People are saying he's letting the power go to his head and he's like a brick wall, but I was kinda the same way during my first game. Except I think I talked more- Well, I talked a LOT more- I actually don't think I ever stopped talking.

Arlie is cool too, but personal feelings aside, he's the weakest link in the chain of my two alliances I personally feel. And when veto comes around, I am gonna gun for it. If Liz is still on the block, James can go do something to himself that shouldn't be written down here, because i'd take her down. If I won and it was Arlie and Libra. I don't know, I'd have to see who the replacement would be and roughly where the votes would lie. Not saying I'd want him to go, it would be smarter to not out myself on working with someone when they're the person i talk to the least. 

I've convinced Howard that there's definitely an alliance with Kelsey, Naeha and Kathy. I tried to throw nick into it but he didn't buy it. He asked if Becky would be in it and I said I didn't know, but I feel she would tell me if she was. James wanted to bring in Nick to the group, and because I know Becky telling me that it's her/kelsey naeha and nick, that was literally the last thing I wanted. Me working with James has less to do with James, and more so with me building up a trust with Howard that I don't think I would've gotten if we had just stuck to our alliance. 

Coming down to my role in the house, I'm trying to play off a likable "kind of villain". So far everyone seems to be alright with my constant almost mean spirited jokes (mostly at Nick, who seems to love it), and I always tone it down when I feel the HOH is looking for reasons to put someone up. My game is in a constant state of "It might blow up at any second and I'll be left with the fallout", so I'm playing myself up to where if (unfortunately for me) that ever happened. Instead of my past seasons where I'd try to talk my way out of it. I could just go "Yeah- Okay. So no one trusts me? Got it" and move on. At the same time, trying to walk that tightrope where I can show the people i'm working with that I actually do care about the game.

I absolutely refuse to take any of this seriously, and that'll either be where my game fucks up, or where my game skyrockets. I am waiting for Libra or Nick to ask me who I'm voting out this week when it comes down to final noms, because I'm gonna do a fucking happy dance when I can just say "probably you." instead of "oh idk yet. im thinking still sadface". I don't want to say it's more fun playing these games as an asshole, but it totally is. 

Naeha keeps telling me not to worry and I'm safe and I have no idea why lol. I talk to her once or twice a round. Once to catch up with her and ask her about her day, the second if she's hoh to ask if she's putting me up. 


I imagine that Naeha/Becky/Nick/Kelsey are inherently more interesting to Housecallers than Me/Howard/Arlie/Liz/Shelli + Me/Howard/Arlie/James.

I'm not throwing Steve's Angels into that equation because Shelli, Becky and Liz are all super fantastic and if any of you don't love them, keep in mind that it's alright, we all make mistakes sometimes.

Arlie had a lot of the same speech patterns and similar details to Jessica/Brian in 8/AS2

I swear to you housecalls if you threw me in a house with him for the third time im gonna self evict my ass right out of here. It's probably not him, but the similarities are uncanny

Arlie is Tyler (Brian/Jessica). I swear. I'm calling it now. Either that's him and in that case, I need to keep a closer eye on him, or he's not and by lawd we found a twin. Humanity take me now

Update on why I think Arlie is Brian. Anytime Arlie starts in on a topic. It rarely makes sense and I feel myself starting to doze off. I know that feeling too well.
